Why does blogging make me nervous?

I've tried many times to post on this blog, but every time I just stare at the blinking line and get a feeling of dread. I might even know exactly what I want to say but the feeling that should anyone read this they might think I'm stupid or crazy or whatever makes me just give up.

Anyway I"ve decided to just do short little posts every now and then. Once I get into the rhythm I'm sure the posts will get longer and the content more interesting. Hopefully.

Anyway. That said. All I really wanted to say was that I'm currently playing Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations. I'm very much enjoying it as I have enjoyed the previous games in the Ace Attorney franchise, but I do miss the courtroom battles. There was just something about presenting that vital piece of evidence and watching the reactions of the prosecutor, judge and witness along with the rumblings of those viewing the proceedings that gave me a full body smile.

Still, the story's have been wild, polt hole-filled and completely over the top... just how I like them :)

If you haven't played any of the Ace Attorney games, I totally recommend them!

Games Are Fun!

My first games console was the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (PAL). It rocked. I had three games: Super Mario World, Aladdin and Thomas the Tank Engine. I was 4 years old.

I didn't always like games. Games were these difficult things that were hard to figure out, and made me feel bad because I could barely ever win. I didn't like it when I failed. I liked games like Monopoly and Snakes and Ladders, because they were games I was good at, and I won a lot of the time. My brother always liked video games. I used to like sitting with him and playing Super Mario World, I mostly watch as he leaped through one level into the next, Donut Plains to Bowser's Valley. I played every so often but I always died pretty quickly and would have to pass the controller back to my brother so he could keep going.

Playing games was one of the few times me and my brother truly got on. We'd fight over who got to play the SNES and whether a death 'counted' or not (deaths as a result of stupid mistakes or distractions from the other sibling didn't count and meant that we didn't have to pass on the sacred controller), but mostly we just played together. I wasn't very good at the actual game, but I could remember the secret exits and fiddly jumping bits. In Aladdin I was good at remembering the passwords and where the red gems were.

Even though it was my brother who was the one who played most of the games, I was the one who got into the culture of games. I loved reading about new games that were coming out, when we rented video games from the store I liked picking the weird looking ones... like Claymates.

Ever since I've been interested in the way games are played, who plays them and how they play. I've never been very good at playing games. I'm getting better... either that or games are getting easier, and I've decided to set up a blog with game reviews and discussions about new games and the way gaming is going
